Here is a guide on where to go and what to do in Miami Beach on New Year Eve.
How to Ring the New Year in Miami Beach
Celebrate New Year’s Eve on the beach with us this year! Or join the well-heeled crowds at one of the many hotels along this famous strip of sand. Time: Midnight. Address: 9th Street and Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139
You can sit on the sand for free. The people watching will be fun, and there will be fireworks at midnight. You’ll want to get your spot on the beach early, though.
Our top recommendation has to be to head down to Bayfront Park on Biscayne Boulevard for a great NYE party at the Pitbull New Years Revolution, now well established as the top new year celebration in Miami.
This has the added bonus of being a completely free event with the only requirement being you get there early to make sure you bag a decent spot. It’s recommended you use public transport to get out to the park, as parking is very limited.
There is also a free fireworks display at midnight, so you don’t have to miss out on seeing some pyrotechnics
Head to Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami for another firework spectacular. Enjoy a dance party, live music and a countdown to midnight as the “The Big Orange” (a 35-foot neon orange icon with sunglasses) ascends to the top of the InterContinental Miami hotel. Pitbull has hosted this mega NYE event in Miami several times and it always draws a huge crowd.
Climb aboard a luxurious yacht and watch fireworks light up the tropical night sky. Both the South Beach Lady and The Musette Yacht are hosting parties on December 31, 2018. A yacht party promises lots of glitz and glam for the New Year. These yachts leave from Bayfront Park in Downtown. Ticket prices vary.
Head to the 40th floor of EAST, Miami to Sugar and soak up the incredible urban views from the top of a skyscraper and enjoy live entertainment with swanky cocktails. For a rooftop party with panoramic views of the Miami Beach skyline and fireworks at midnight, head to The Gale South Beach. Dance and groove to sounds by a live DJ mixing the hottest sounds of the year, feast on a tasty buffet and toast the end of the year with a five-hour premium open bar.
Taking place at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center there is the fabulous Wynwood NYE 2019 block party, which is free of charge and open to the public.
The party includes live entertainment featuring fire eaters, artists and dancers with live DJs and a team of musicians providing the music. The party runs form 7pm through until 3am – get more details here.
Partying responsibly is always a must. There are various ways to get around Miami and Beaches, including free trolleys. Plan your transportation ahead of time with helpful resources to get you on your way, and back. Miami-Dade Transit accommodates the public with its New Year’s Eve holiday schedule for Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover.
